Privacy Policy
Effective / last updated: 23 October 2026 (Asia/Shanghai)
This page explains how the website poetune.com (“the site”) handles information. Poetune is a small, personally run dictionary of classical Chinese poems, names, and birthday poem cards. There are no accounts and no sign-in.
Information the site handles
The site has no contact forms and no user accounts. Nothing on these pages asks you to submit a name or email address to our servers.
When you browse, the following technical information may be processed:
- Google Analytics 4 (measurement ID G-DFLKZ5NLP2) — used to understand page views, referrers, device and browser type, approximate region, and on-site actions such as taps on save or share controls for poem cards. Google may set cookies or similar identifiers. See Google’s Privacy Policy.
- Language preference (cookie
poetune_lang) — when you choose a language in the menu, we store that choice in a first-party cookie for up to about one year. It is not sent to other sites by us. - Download-page language (localStorage) — on /download/, a language you pick is remembered only in your browser’s localStorage (key
poetry_download_locale).
Birthday cards and gift images
Saving a birthday poem card, or adding a name and short message to make a gift image, happens in your browser. The name or message you type is not uploaded to this site’s servers. If you use share features, the content goes through your device’s share sheet or to the service you choose (such as X or WhatsApp).
Third parties
- Cloudflare — hosts and protects the site. Ordinary request logs may be processed as part of delivery.
- Google Fonts — fonts load from fonts.googleapis.com / fonts.gstatic.com. Your environment may be visible to Google when those files are fetched.
- Apple App Store — the site links to our apps. Links may include campaign parameters (for example pt / ct / mt). Tapping them takes you to Apple’s services.
- Share destinations — links to X, LINE, Facebook, WhatsApp and similar open only when you press the button.
The /download/ page may also show regional links such as Huawei AppGallery or WeChat. Opening them is subject to those services’ policies.
About the app
Data practices for the iPhone / iPad app “Chinese Poetry & Culture” (and its other language names) are separate from this website. See the developer privacy policy linked from the App Store:
